The staff and members of First Baptist
Church of Ferguson invite you to become an active part of
a caring and Christ-centered fellowship that is committed
to reaching people and sharing God's love. There is
something for everyone in the family, any age, any
different interest.
Children's & Preschool
Ministry
The Early years shape the rest of life.
His eyes are filled with wonder.
Her face reflects the future.
In so many ways your preschooler is clay to be fashioned
for a special purpose in this world. You know just how
important those early years are in realizing that
purpose. That is why we want the very best for your
preschooler. FBCFs Preschool Ministry provides
important benefits to preschoolers and their parents. The
Childrens Ministry continues the growth process
during the formative years.
Youth Ministry
New Creation Youth - Believing
it takes a 180 degree decision to be true followers of
Jesus Christ, we feel F.B.C. Ferguson, is the place for
students to be accepted "just as they are". We
help students grow in their relationships with their
peers and with Jesus Christ through Bible studies,
relevant times of worship and meaningful acts of service,
Disciple Now weekends, retreats, summer camps, tours, ski
trips and much more. We are always looking for
opportunities to provide students with what they need to
take on the challenge of today and prepare them for
tomorrow.
College And Single
Adult Ministry - We delve
into meaningful Biblical studies that are practical and
relevant to today's Young Adults. We meet on Sunday
mornings at 9:15 for food, fellowship, and Bible Study.
Special weekend activities include pizza parties,
bowling, and other fellowship opportunities. Come join
this dynamic ministry.
Married Adult
Ministry
Our Married Adults are divided into two divisions -
Young Adults and Median Adults. We offer fully graded
departments for each age group. In these departments, we
have men's classes, ladies' classes, and/or co-ed
classes. We offer something for everybody in Bible Study.
Also, additional activities are provided in a variety
of programs each year. These popular programs include:
Precept Bible Studies for men and women; Ladies'
Luncheons; and Seminars on Parenting, Stress, Finance,
and other subjects.
Senior Adult Ministry
A wide variety of activities are provided for Senior
Adults such as: camps, trips, banquets, and conferences.
Also, Bible Study is provided in a variety of places and
departments on Sunday. Anyone age 55 and up is welcome to
join this exciting ministry.
Audio-Video
The purpose of the Audio-Video Technical ministry is to
enable and enhance worship through Sound, Lighting, and
Multimedia. Our goal is to support the praise and worship
experience with the tools of technology. This ministry
encompasses preparation of the multimedia announcements
and choruses, manning the sound, lighting, multimedia
consoles, and the broadcast booth. This website is also a
part of this ministry.
AWANA
The word Awana stands for Approved Workmen Are Not
Ashamed and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15. "Study to
show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth
not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of
truth.". Our AWANA club ministers to children age
three through 6th grade.
Banners
Throughout time, banners have been used in
celebration, worship, and praise. Our Banner Ministry
creates and prepares banners for use in special
presentations and to enhance our worship and praise
services.
Baptist Retired Men's Fellowship
This is a group of men who meet the 3rd
Tuesday of each month (except December) to have
fellowship, share inspirational programs, and participate
in mission action in the St. Louis Metropolitan area.
BRMF is open to all men from any church in the St. Louis
Metro Baptist Association, which includes some churches
in St. Charles County.
Benevolence
There are times when the physical needs of an
individual become critical. We seek to assist with those
needs while also addressing the spiritual needs.
Children's Camp
The purpose of Childrens Camp is that the
children will develop their total person in relation to
God, to others and to themselves. Leaders strive to share
Christ, to model the Christ-like life, and to develop
Christian characteristics in the children during the
week.
Every part of the camp schedule from
Worship time and devotions to scavenger hunts and skit
night is designed to keep the camps purpose in
mind.
Children's
Church
Children's Church meets Sunday morning
during the Worship service. Children PreK-2nd grade are
dismissed from the Worship service just after the
welcome. Children's Church is a Worship service geared
for younger children. We sing songs, take offering, hear
wonderful stories from God's Word and participate in
"hands on" craft applications.
Counselors
Whether during the worship services or at 7:00 Sunday
evenings during the Think About Tomorrow broadcast, there
are counselors ready to share the Plan of Salvation with
those who are seeking. These committed people find the
joy of leading others to Christ.
Deacons
In Acts 6:1-6, the formation of the position of deacon is
described. It is a ministry of service to the body of
Christ. Our deacons strive to be the servants envisioned
in Acts through a ministry of prayer, "deacon on
call", hospital visitation, and other activities.
Deaf Ministry
We provide a Bible study and activities for deaf
individuals of all ages including signing of our morning
worship service and special events.
Eye Glasses to
Missions
The face of a loved one, a flower, a bird in
the sky. The gift of sight is a wonderful thing. Our
Eyeglass ministry helps share the gift of good sight by
collecting, cleaning and preparing used eyeglasses to be
distributed in countries where the people cannot afford
eyecare. Working with volunteer optometrist, these
eyeglasses help share the message of God's love by
showing that someone cares.
Fellowship
The Fellowship/Hospitality of First Baptist Church
Ferguson encourages, promotes and makes necessary
recommendations for the maintenance of a spirit of
genuine church fellowship. They plan and promote periodic
church fellowships at which time all new members of the
church are introduced and recognized. They also work with
the church organizations in planning an annual program of
social activities. This also includes receptions for new
ministerial staff members or receptions for special
occasions; such as employment anniversaries, etc.
Funeral Meals
Whenever there is a death within the church family, a
group from the Sunday School class or department where
the member attended or served, uses money donated for
this purpose to provide the meat, bread, etc. Class
members bring salads, vegetables, or desserts.
Heaven's Handful Puppet teams
"Working with your hands" has a special meaning
when it comes to Heaven's Handful. This group of young
people spread God's love through puppets to people in
churches, hospitals, nursing homes, and throughout the
community. Their ministry reaches far with mission trips
to Belarus and Jamaica, and throughout the United States
including Wyoming, Florida, and Wisconsin among others.
The puppets break down the barriers and allow the
puppeteers to minister in a unique way.
International Fellowship
Provides an opportunity for
Internationals to meet both Americans and other
Internationals, practice English and study the Bible.
Bible study in English, paced for those for whom English
is a second language.
International
Lunch
Baptist Churches in the St. Louis Metro Baptist
Association have been serving a free lunch to
International Students for nearly thirty years. We serve
200-300 International students every month. First Baptist
Church Ferguson serves lunch to the students once a
semester. We are told that when students return they
always ask if the lunch is still going on! Also, this is
the most successful program with the Internationals. They
go home with good memories of Baptist churches.
Library/Media Center
The Media Center strives to provide inspirational
Christian media materials for all ages that will
encourage personal growth in knowledge, develop
individual ethical standards, and that it will be
instrumental in helping readers attain personal goals,
dreams, and plans.
Mission Building Team
With a pouchfull of nails and a heart full of faith, the
Mission Building team crosses the country, building
churches to glorify God. Starting each day with prayer
and song, the team transforms a slab of concrete into a
new church building.
Mission
Organizations
Our Baptist Women meet each month to study the
mission programs of our convention. These ladies are
involved in various mission projects.
Music & Worship Ministry
You're sure to find a place to participate in the
Worship Leadership of FBCF. Music lifting praises to the
Lord by soloist, choir members, ensembles, orchestra
& band members, makes every service a wonderful
worship experience.
Nursing Home/Homebound
(Pathway)
There are faithful, caring people who make visits each
month to various Nursing Homes and to those unable to
attend church still living in their homes.
Prayer
Ministry
Seven days a week, committed prayer warriors occupy
the prayer chapel of First Baptist Church. The Prayer
Chapel began in 1987 and since that time has ministered
to thousands. In addition, a group of prayer warriors
lift needs to the Lord. Call 524-PRAY (524-7729) in time
of need or prayer, or 521-1515 for help with emergencies
or crisis situations.
Precepts
Precept Ministries is known as the
"inductive Bible study people." This method
focuses on the Bible itself, teaching students tools that
allow anyone to study any passage for themselves. The
result is a personal, one-on-one encounter with the
Living God. Using the inductive method, classes study
various books of the Bible or topics, such as covenant or
spiritual gifts. Classes are open to anyone at any level
and never close their membership
Promises
to Keep
"Promises to Keep" is a ministry of
First Baptist Church Ferguson designed for children who
are inquiring about baptism or asking question about
salvation. Such topics as Baptism, Lords Supper are
discussed as well as the Plan of Salvation.
"Promises to Keep" is available quarterly and
there are usually four sessions, held on Wednesdays and
Sundays before the evening Worship service. Parents are
encouraged to attend with their child.
Quilting and Crafts
The ladies in the Craft room put together and make quilts
that are given to the Misouri Baptist Children's Home.
These quilts are part of their auction at the Strawberry
Festival every June. All proceeds from the quilts go to
the Children's Home.
Saints Alive
Saints Alive is a ministering group of Senior Adults.
Meetings are typically held the 3rd Thursday of each
month at 11:30 am beginning with a Pot Luck luncheon
followed by Bible Study.
Through "Saints
Alive" many activities are sponsored such as day
trips, mystery rides, tours around St. Louis, Samaritan's
Purse Christmas Shoebox, Christmas Banquet, September
Picnic in the Park, Nights at the Muny, and much, much
more.
S.C.R.U.B.
The second Saturday of EVERY month dedicated
FBCF church members put their faith into action to help
with the upkeep of the Lord's house. Inside we paint and
wash windows and clean out closets and attack cobwebs and
repair carpets and clean the kitchen and repair pews and
straighten/sort supplies and much much more.
Sign Language
Class
Sign up for sign language
We are currently involved in teaching a Sign Language
Class on Sunday nights to any hearing church member who
may be interested in learning something of our language.
By taking this class you will embark on a journey into a
community that enjoys communication. With this class you
should be able to begin conversing with deaf people.
Special
Delivery Puppet Team
The Adult Special Education Sunday School Class
has a puppet ministry that reaches out to tell people
about the love of God. Theyve ministered several
times at First Baptist Church Ferguson during the
Christmas Season, Vacation Bible School, Carnival, and at
the Annual Puppet Ministry Fellowship. Everywhere they go
theyre greeted with standing ovations. They have
also ministered at bowling banquets for special needs and
the Strawberry Festival at the Missouri Baptist
Childrens Home. To our knowledge, theyre the
only Special Education Puppet Ministry in existence. They
always glorify God and were very proud of them.
Special Education
Ministry
We provide a Bible study ministry and activities for
physically and mentally handicapped persons of all ages.
Those who are unable to be mainstreamed in our regular
ministries are provided for in special events such as
Bible study, V.B.S., and recreation activities.
Tape Ministry
Did you miss a Sunday? Out of town? Audio tapes and CDa
are available of each and every service. This ministry
duplicates the tapes/CDs and makes them available to all.
These may also be checked out of our church library.
Television Production
FBCF brings the gospel of Christ into many homes in the
St. Louis metropolitan area through our broadcast
television program, Think About Tomorrow.
It airs on Charter Cable Channel 18 at 7:00pm Sunday
evening. Counselors are on hand during
each of the broadcasts to witness to those responding to
the Word.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School provides an exciting and
enjoyable way for children to learn about Jesus.
Activities, crafts, stories, songs and games are all
combined to show Gods love for each and every
child. Parents night is a showcase of what each
child has been doing during the week. Held in June each
year, VBS at First Baptist ministers to hundreds of
children and their families.
WMU - Women on Mission
Women on Mission meet the first Thursday of each
month at 10:00 am. The women gather to pray for
missionaries and those of the church family who are ill.
Cards for these are signed and sent to them. WMU promotes
the annual Day of Prayer for Foreign Missions and North
American Missions, the prayer emphasis for Muslims, Jews,
Hindus, and Buddhists. The group also gathered items for
missionaries to Honduras, Chile, and Belize as people
traveled to these places.
Women's Ministry
We are taking first S.T.E.P.S. to bring all
of the womens ministries together under this basic
Biblical premise: that we need one another and we can
encourage one another to become what God has purposed in
His heart for us through Christ Jesus.
And much more
