Our goal is to aid you in an encounter with God in worship, which creates life as the worshiper's relationship to God is continuously sustained and renewed. In worship people are responding to God be it by praise, thanksgiving, supplication, or repentance.

Worship may serve many purposes in the life of the worshiper. It may be spiritual development, the cultivation of Christian graces, and the deepening of understanding. It may be an emotional release, the healing of hurts through the touch of the divine. It may be a communion with God. It may be thanksgiving to God for benefits received and rejoicing in His presence. It may be an individual act of commitment to serve God or the corporate celebration of the identity of the people of God.

While worship may be all these things, biblical worship operates in an added dimension. For in all these things the focus is on the Worshiper; in genuine biblical worship the focus is always on the One who is worshipped. The biblical worshiper comes before the Creator with an overpowering sense of reverence and awe.

Our goal is to aid you in an encounter with God in worship, which creates life as the worshiper's relationship to God is continuously sustained and renewed. In worship people are responding to God be it by praise, thanksgiving, supplication, or repentance.

Song and instrumentation played a vital part in biblical worship. In ancient times, as today, music is an important way of approaching the mystery of God and of expressing the joy of being in God's presence.

CHILDREN'S CHOIRS

Age group choirs begin in September and end in May. Each choir meets on Sundays from 5:30 - 6:20 p.m. Parents have the opportunity to help their children develop musically, socially, and spiritually by bringing their children to participate in their specific aged choir. Studies have shown that children who participate in musical training become better students, are socially skilled, and become greater leaders as adults. First Baptist Ferguson seeks to aid each home by providing excellent leadership for each child.

Special Events

Hanging of the Green
This special event occurs the first weekend of December when we usher in the Christmas season by the hanging of greenery throughout our auditorium. This program of music, narration, and seasonal anticipation has become a traditional highlight in our Christmas celebration.

Festival of Light

Christ's Sacrifice
The Easter Season brings with it a special excitement. It's the time in which we as a church reflect upon the pain and joy of which the events of Christ's life provide the promise of our eternal hope. That special excitement is spread to our community each season as our Music Ministry presents an intensive production about Christ's life through music and drama

Throughout the year our service choirs present major works to strengthen the corporate church and the family members who attend.
