The Deaf Ministry has been a vital part of the overall
ministries of our church for more than 30 years,
providing interpretation in the language of sign for
Worship and other special occasions. We have our own
Bible Study class and, along with the interpreters, are
actively involved in State work through the Missouri
Baptist Convention for the Deaf. Currently we are
focusing on outreach to those in our community and the
Deaf Community at large in the St. Louis area. Our
participation in the Billy Graham Crusade gave us insight
as to the vast number of unchurched deaf who live in our
area. Like the hearing church, we make contacts through
visits, e-mail, snail mail, and TDD’s (Telecommunications
Device for the Deaf). We have an
interpreter at the Morning and the Evening Worship
Services.
