AWANA is a nondenominational ministry
committed to "reaching boys and girls with the
gospel of Christ and training them to serve Him."
The heartbeat of AWANA is reaching children around the
world with the good news that Jesus Christ loves them and
can save them from sin. Each week, more than one million
boys and girls in over 110 countries attend AWANA clubs
where they play games, memorize Bible verses and listen
to Bible stories. From preschool through sixth grade, our
children have fun while being taught the Word of God.
Our
two-hour club features three segments: Game Time,
Handbook Time and Council Time. During Game Time, boys
and girls play games on the unique AWANA Game Square. In
Handbook Time, children work through age-appropriate
handbooks memorizing Bible verses and doing activities
ranging from patriotism to community service. They earn
awards based on their work. The final segment, Council
Time, consists of singing, puppets, Bible stories and
lessons based on Christian principles.
A variety of theme nights makes the
AWANA Clubs even more exciting. Besides weekly meetings,
other AWANA activities occur throughout the year. AWANA
Games competitions bring area churches together to
compete in games. The AWANA Grand Prix is a pinewood
derby that is a thrill for all. Other events and field
trips add to the fun.
Our AWANA Club (#9920) meets every
Wednesday night from 6:OOpm to 8:00pm at FBCF and is open
to children age three through those in sixth grade.
Cubbies .
The Awana club for preschoolers is built on two
premises:
- Young children can and should receive spiritual
training.
- Home is the primary place for spiritual training.
Cubbies meets these needs through
- Fun and lots of it!
- Friendly characters and leaders
- Foundational teaching
- Family involvement
Sparks.
The Awana Sparks club for children in kindergarten
through second grade builds on the material taught in our
preschool club. The aim of the curriculum is to take
youngsters a step deeper into Gods Word while
giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to
hear the gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ.
Sparks club meetings are divided into three segments:
- Bible teaching, worship, award presentations and
the gospel message
- Small group interaction and completion of
Bible-based lessons
- Age-appropriate games on the Awana game circle
Along the way, Sparky, the friendly firefly,
encourages boys and girls to learn verses and complete
assignments throughout the three handbooks.
Truth & Training
The name Truth & Training reflects the passion
of Awana to teach third- through sixth-grade boys and
girls the truth of Gods Word and to train them to
follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many
of todays young people will become tomorrows
church leaders. T&T is the program that trains the
leaders of tomorrow today.
AWANA clubs include time
for small group time, one-on-one time with leaders, club
time and game time each week. Activities throughout the
year includes visits from missionaries, the AWANA Games,
trips to interesting places, theme nights and many fun
& exciting special events.
